Our mission: To create responsive educational
opportunities that strengthen personal, community, and global well-being.

The CCLC is a social change initiative, created and forwarded by people in easternmost Maine, which has succeeded in establishing itself as part of the community fabric.  Grounded in the philosophies of popular, folk, indigenous and experiential education, community organizing is a core value and goal of the Center.  The CCLC started in January 1999 as a community research project and coalesced in October 1999 with a Core Group of twenty local people – all volunteers – dedicated to bringing their vision of a healthier community to life.
